My Own Personal Moss Terrarium

When I was little I remembered we had the shady part of the front yard of my parent's house covered with moss.  Everytime my grandmother paid visit she always told my mum to scrape it off.  We never did. Naughty naughty. We love how the neon color highlighted the pavement.

Last week, thank's to a gorgeous weather, I went to a really secret place, just me and the nature, to collect moss. It is amazing how much the variety that you can find on this type of plant.

I don't have a green hand but have been coveting a terrarium. At the beginning the idea was just to fill up an old yogurt jar with plenty of moss and call it a terrarium. But I went out of my way and create four different types of little terrariums.

Decorated a little with lavender buds, It smells great!

I didn't know I had more jar than I do somewhere in the kitchen.

The biggest of all four, I combined the little tige of a dragon fruit plant with moss. A little cake topper should be under this 'huge' tree but it keeps on falling down, so he had to be taken away. so sad.

And this last is my favorite..

I adopted this abandoned succulent bud who grew slightly detached from the earth. She was dry and almost died, but now she seemed to be happy in her new home. My heart smiles.

A family photo! Say cheese!

I have a hunch that this adventure with the terrarium is far from end... Perhaps one of these days I'd go to the same sacred place to adopt more of that little chlorophyllic natural carpet. I hope you have an eco weekend!

Spring Jewelry

Hello you, you know who you are. I am still working on your requests.. Slowly and steadily...

Here is to you something so springy and lively. Hanged under a french hook in antique gold, I came up with a three pair of earrings that I find it'd be perfect..

First a combination of Fuchsia, Baby Blue, Purple, and lime green like this necklace. This simple dangling earrings drops down to 3.5cm or 1.2 inch. With faceted milky baby blue briolette as a highlight and a cute 4mm fuchsia tip on top.

The second option, with the same hue, baby blue and fuchsia as the highlight, this pair has a simpler style. It is shorter, 2cm or 0.75inch. I added a little antique gold crown between the 4mm lime crystal and the aquamarine rondelle.

With a completely different hue from the first two, the last option of your request distinct itself out. First the round faceted purple swarovski should capture your eyes the first. Second, there are only two color, this make this pair the smallest of all three..

Now if you ask my advice, Amongst the three I prefer the first one because personally I love colors but I hate carnivals. The pair suits my taste because the faceted foggy baby blue briolette tones down the brightness. Moreover, this might be the pair that match the most to your necklace. If you love the shininess of the swarovski crystal, I advice you to take the last because in person this pair looks quite bright (you perhaps already know how shiny the swarovski crystals are).  Lastly, if you love a somewhat transparent less bling bling the second pair is for you, the czech baby blue rondelle are just so soft and sweet, and with the two contrast, magenta and lime green little crystals might give you permission to be cheerful.

Fuchsia, Lime green, Bright blue, Purple..

I could never imagine that all these color can go together, but thank's to you (you know you who are :) they do, I had fun making it.. I hope you love it as much as I do.. et VoilĂ !

Happy Mardi Gras!

Big Rings

Yaay it's Friday! I have a homework for you for the weekend.. I've just made a couple of big rings. Which one do you prefer? One with engine red agate briolettes and a honey rondelle in bronze wire... Or the other with teal and emerald crystals in green art wire? The red one does looks a bit big in your hand while the blue one is smaller.

Contemplating those Beautiful Days in the Past

It gets less cold in Paris, but the sun is too lazy to hang out. I am sitting by the window thinking about those beautiful days in the past. The winter starts late, and will end late.  These photos we took around November at Parc de Bercy.

We installed in a nice bench and shared our lunch with these cute little sparrows.

One curious hungry little sparrow!

Afterward there were an American-Rumanian couple with her parents who came from Washington state for a vacation who asked me to take their picture.  They wanted me to do it from the far so the autumn flowers somehow appears in the image, I imagined they'd probably use this photo for their christmas greetings. So I try really hard to make it good. ;)

Not easy! I should passed the camera to D, usually he takes better photos. Oh well, instead he took me.

Ahhh all those beautiful days... Enjoy your Thursday! <3

Happy Valentine

It was my birthday ten days ago, I am officially 32 years and ten days old right now. D took my birthday photo and be the only witness of me closing my eyes wishing for something special before blowing the candle. Man I look old in that photo, sadly, years from now when I re-look at that photo I'd be saying, ahhh those young time..

I am not here to talk about that, by the way. It's valentine's day, I never get so excited honestly. It reminds me of those broken hearted stories that happens everywhere.  My girlfriends might be in at the moment I type this post, too hurtful.

But I send everybody a hug anyway.. Bisous xoxo

Succulent Terrarium

It is normal to always want something right? I have been 'craving' to have terrarium, not sure if the urge of making one or just owning one. In short, I WANT it.  Going back and forth at google search to find a good DIY and consulting the gardening page on which plants, pots, soil to use.  I thought to myself, maybe if I just read it off, the urge of having one will go away. It's not like it's an addiction or something, I deserve to have a one beautiful mini terrarium at home. But the problem is we live in a small apartment and we already have plenty of plants! They are happy to live with us indeed, but we, too, need some space to live.. Dillema oh dillema...

Well, before I decide, here are the stuff I was talking about..

From Garden of Leah. What a gorgeous pot and I love how healthy and playful her succulent goes.

Apparently this is where you should find your life moss, save some $$ and it is more organic than the preserved one. I think.  Now that I think about it, I see plenty of these everywhere..

This is a terrarium within a lightbulb, Camille from Chapeau Bas shared the full DIY.

oh I don't mind a healthy tree with real wood in my terrarium, image from lacrafterie.fr

DIY from Our Fine House is my favorite so far, simple and it consist of two plants I like: moss and succulent.

Sara Norris Photography took gorgeous photo, she was right, the touch of purple at the end of the leaves makes it look sexier.

It is tempting to just click here and buy Amanda's terrarium from etsy
