How time flies!

Can you believe that we're almost at the end of the second month in the year of 2011?

So many things to do so little time.  I restarted my french course at the beginning of last week, it is good to be back.  Apart from the grammar and vocabularies, I find it interesting to read and discuss interesting articles about social and cultural situation in France.  However, in return, I haven't touched any of my pliers nor took a peek on my stones, crystals.

And as if things aren't busy enough, a little flu had invaded me last weekend thus forced me to step back and rest.  I doodle in my big book, I read, took a nap, and sleep early instead. I still hope to find a time to spend it in the workshop...

J'adore Le Turquoise

I adore turquoise.  the calmness of the color brings you to places from the seashore to the summer sky.  Its detailed fibers and imperfection brings you back and forth to the dream and reality.  To me, every piece of turquoise gives me an immense inspiration, one small rock is enough to muse me.

This time, as the continuation study of Les Messieurs du Faubourg, Les Dames du Faubourg on my Etsy shop a piece of art created especially for you.

Falling elegantly just on your collarbone, a 42cm length of wire-wrapped necklace made in the simplest way possible underlining the natural rock and harmonious combination of color.  The focal point of an oval 2x3cm turquoise rock charmingly placed in between two polished natural-shaped citrine.  Encircled by turquoise in oval, button, rondelle, and round shape in a minimum size of 10mm and sporadic points of 8mm round faceted peridot this necklace stays voluptuous.  And finally the 12mm light golden and 10mm byzantium rondelle czech crystals that glows highlighting every detail of this necklace.

Chinese New Year

Celebrating the lunar new year I went to china town and thought that I would amuse myself to see just one simple lion dance and then go home and be happy.  It happened to be more than what I had in mind and suddenly I really am not interested in the dance, at all...

To summarize, it was crazy!  Enough with hundreds of people hanging out on the side of the street faithfully waiting to see the parades of princess and kings of the forbidden city makes me think that I am in one of the asian city (at home!!!)

Here goes the first photo I took, a mobile temple of goddess Guanyin , she is one of the most admired parade for everybody try ask her to give them good fortune and good health.

The incense was distributed on the street

Isn't this boy cute? He is from the fukkien association (yaayyy my mother's clan is there!) I love the red rabbit sitting comfortably on this teenager's head.

blue bunny was there...

And the panda was there...

Even Hello Kitty and her boyfriend were there too, they are hanging out in front of Mc.Donalds

A car fully dressed with red, flower, lantern, and wishes for the new year...

I managed to take the photo of the driver, you can tell that he woke up early just so he can put on his new shirt and fresh flower.

And everybody is happy, making love not war.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Indian Turquoise Necklace

As posted on my etsy page.

The 2mm vintage gold chain pierces directly through the handmade blowglass in solid dark turquoise and 14k gold rondelle crown thus rail within the chain playfully. With a perfect length of 41cm, so it fall just between the collar bone. Closing, five o-ring attached one after the other to have a little personal adjustment on length of the necklace.

This necklace in one way or the other looks rustic, but the touch of 14k gold really reminds me of a bollywood movie which is the contrast of being rugged. The shape of the happy pendant is a little traditional, cultural, and eastern. It would be beautiful with a traditional south east asian costume or, even, a bohemian style.

La Comtesse

This should probably be a "la folle comptesse" qui adore la couleur et des soirée; A pretty loud bracelet with two focal stone of Amethyst and Turquoise in around 2cm wide. Ignoring the orange 4mm crystals, with the faceted lilac drop and the button-shape and round foggy coral pink natural stone, this bracelet is actually pretty shy and feminine. To stay loyal with the turquoise I add a couple of emerald rondelle czech crystals and my favorite blow glass leave shape that will be the charm. And in the same rythm with the amethyst, a touch of my favorite plum rondelle czech crystals. Wirewrapped in a silver argentium wire and a hand forged satin finished art nouveau finding to acentuate the style. Length is 19cm, this should fit to almost all of the wrist, but if anyway you want it to be precisely your size, I will definitely adjust them as you wish.

Les Messieurs du Faubourg

And detailed with 6mm gold shadow diamond shape swarovski, 8mm plum rondelle czech, and 4 champagne rondelle czech crystals all wire-wrapped in silver argentium wire.
The pendant is 6cm long and the stud has 1.3cm long and 7mm wide.
